Abstract

AMWA has been actively addressing the concerns of its members regarding the perception and recognition of medical writing. An executive forum was held, leading to the establishment of a dedicated workstream to gather insights into the contributions and value of medical writers.

This workstream, initially led by Dylan Harris and later chaired by me, focused on 3 key areas: the contribution of medical writers within their teams and employers, the benefit of their work from the perspective of regulatory reviewers, and a literature review to capture the industry-wide view of medical writers’ contributions.
